I got suckered into watching the film version of my headmate's little world for the second time in eight years. All I can say is I now remember why it is I waited so long to watch it again: other than some of the acting, it's a disaster. And of course it's never pleasant to be reminded of what an ass we used to be married to. I swear to God, if he ever shows up in anyone, I may just end up jumping off the nearest building.

It's a good thing I have a firm partner that I can trust, otherwise I'd never be able to keep my foot in that door while also handling Agency work. Although I think I'll still be popping into the office at least twice a week. A control freak? Moi? Not on your life.

I don't know what exactly possessed me to do it (credence to the idea that there is safety in large numbers, perhaps), but I've sent in my resume to the Agency. If all goes well, I should soon be working in the legal services department. Between this and the firm, I really will have no life. Not that I've had much of one to lose, actually.

Seeing as everyone else is talking about their Christmas plans, I figure I might as well chime in with mine. Depending on whether or not a massive lawsuit finds its way into my caseload within the next couple of days, I'll either be spending the holidays held up in my office or alone in my apartment with my cat and a pitcher of spiked eggnog. No family reunions for me, thank you very much.

What with all of the tension building in the community lately, I'm not sure this is the best of times to introduce myself, but I've been lurking long enough. To get to the facts, which is what I'm sure you all care about,the name's Elise Hartford, I have a lady from a musical in my head, and I live in Boston.
Now, I'm afraid, I have to go out and shovel some snow. As my counterpart would dryly say, "Happy birthday to me."
